One learning experience from this week.

This story is about driving a boat to the island, and exploring around a place I haven't been before. 

I learnt how write something, about on a boat to the island and exploring. 

This story was fun.

WALT: Write a moment in time story

Success Criteria

Watch one of the videos in the writing website. Using the chart below write down a brainstorm of all the vocabulary that could be used to describe the 5 senses in that video.

Write a moment in time story about the experience shown in the video. You must write in first person tense. Remember to use the vocab you have in your chart above.




Begin here:
I am driving in the boat, making my way to the island.
I am pulling over to the side to stop the boat, so I can get out and explore.
I turn the boat off and jump out to tie the boat up, i tie the boat and pull my gear out.
I pull all my stuff out and make my way over to the apartment.
As I walk I feel so heavy and sore of holding my heavy bags, for only an amount of seconds.
I am standing at the door, I pull my keys out and unlock the door, the door opens so I pick my stuff up and walk inside, to unpack all my gear.

I unpack my gear and walk over to the draws and put all my stuff in.
I put my food in the cupboard by my bed and put my clothes in the draws, I put my shoes under the bed and put my papers on my desk.
I finish unpacking my stuff.
I look out the window and I see people sitting down under the shade by the tree, they are talking to each other.
I grab my keys and walk out the door, I lock the door and walk around to explore what this island is like, and what it looks like and meet new things and new people.

As I walk I see people walking past and sitting down, I say ‘hi what's your name? They say my name is Nessa and my name is Ana, we talk about looking at the island water and talk about myself.
I tell them that I am knew to this country, I say but I am only here for the week, we finish talking and I say sorry but I have to go, they say where are you going and I say i am going to explore around this island.
They ask if they can come so I say yes please of course you can please come and enjoy with me.
We all walk together and go around to explore, I see trees and the nice cool blue clear water and the soft sand, I see little buildings with people in them, I also see the people play voli in the water.
‘Time passes’ so ‘I say nice to meet you thank you so much for helping me i'll see you tomorrow because I have to go and eat have a shower and go to sleep.

Reading - Reflect on how reading went this week.

I learnt this week for Reading - How to do a strategy practice

I also learnt how to Re-tell a story.

I think reading was alright.

This story is about wolves making pigs lives harder, it is about wolves blowing down their houses.
It is like a story you've probably heard before but made a bit differently.
Here it is below.

  • The wolves will blow the house down.
  • The pigs will get angry and try to kill them.
  • The wolves might chase the pigs and throw them in the garbage bins.
  • The wolves will might keep blowing their houses down and might spy on them to wherever they go.
  • The pigs might make a big plan to set up a trap to the wolves and fake of making a house but make their other house somewhere private.
  • The wolves will probably won’t find out their actual house the pigs are building.
  • The pigs might have a happily ever after.

Reading - Week 04 - Explore the authors purpose for the text.

For reading today I have done:
I learnt how to talk about the purpose reason of the text.
I also learnt how to have the best important meal of the day, and that having a big breakfast like this doesn't make you fat, it helps to become less fat.

Next week for learning I will improve on making good decisions - and fun.

This week for learning it was fun.

This story is about having the most important meal of the day.
People think eating a big breakfast makes you get fat.
Eating one of these breakfast meals will not make you get fat, this will help you lose weight and make you have a full stomach, also will have a healthy diet.

Writing - What is in the sea water, what does it do?

I found this task fun, because I got to learn new things about what happens in the water.

I learnt that the sea water gives us oxygen.

What’s is in the water, in the sea, what does it do?

In the water there are animals, like sharks fish Sea snails & lot’s more.
There are also animals like marine turtles and others.
There are things like seaweed corals, rocks and shells in the water.
Others such as starfish, dolphins, killer whales and much more.

The animals that live in the water actually help us humans, because humans eat sea animals they are called food, to humans.
The animals help the sea water, they help the water by going certain ways.
They also help the water a living home, to themselves.
The water is very important to the animals because they need it to breath, they can’t live without water.

The sea water helps us humans to breathe, the water gives us humans oxygen.
The water also helps by giving  good new nutrition.
Sea water may also help to hydrate and improve the appearance of your skin.
Bathing in a magnesium rich dead sea salt, the solution helps your skin moisture.
Sea water is good for all things, such as humans and animals.

There are only seven seas in the world….

1 learning experience from this week.

I learnt this week for writing - How to do descriptive writing.

I learnt how to write in first person - like present, writing something happening right now.

I also learnt how to do writing in a few things have haven't done before.

I found this task alright but quite boring.

Next week I will work on making my task be more fun and learn new things and to do better on my writing.

Reflect on how our Reading went this Week.

This weeks reading I have been doing a  summarizing sequence about journal books.
I have been learning about how to do strategy practicing. I can Predict a story - I can Re-tell a story.
I picked a buddy for Buddy reading - In buddy reading we have to share a book and read half each and record ourselves and put it onto our Learning Log.

I found these tasks Good - Easy...

I learnt how to read and record myself - I learnt how to Summarize things - I also learnt how to do strategy practicing - How to Predict a story and how to Re-tell a story.

Next week I am going to improve on how to do my learning faster and to work on harder things.
